This project is the result of an extensive research on speculative design. Its purpose is to critique certain aspects of the web/internet and redefine how we experience it. We researched wearable technology in depth and studied how such technology might evolve in the future generations. We proposed a speculative scenario in 2066, in which “PickQuan” is introduced as a new option to personalized online shopping. PickQuan is a new technology that grew from the rapid development of the “Internet of Things”.

In the scenario we propose the idea of having a quantum nano chip inserted under the skin which collects information of the user based on chemical reactions. This new technology offers an online based platform that allows the user to interact with it and access the stored data in real time. The platform offers a notification feature which allows the user to receive an alert when there is a product around that him or her likes or would like. PickQuan simplifies the task of having to take decisions all the time.
